Fast Track Motor File Handler

Liverpool – £25,000 - £28,000

My client is an award-winning firm known for it's accolades and accreditations in the legal world. They are a Legal500 firm who excel in Casualty, Complex Injury, and motor claims. 

The File Handler will have control of their own caseload of litigated fast track Motor claims from a variety of clients.

This role can be worked from either our Liverpool or Leeds office

Key Accountabilities
• Handling a caseload of predominately Litigated Motor Claims to settlement
• Create case strategy following Client Guidelines and review of information available
• Assessing cases and liability of claims
• Undertake discussions and negotiations with Clients and Third Party Solicitors to pursue the rapid and appropriate settlement of cases and the apportionment of costs
• Timely and accurate maintenance of all case management, billing and management information systems to ensure completeness of records and aid business decision making
• Allocate funds to the appropriate client accounts as per agreed procedures to ensure the client and the firm receive appropriate payments
• Undertaking periodic reviews of files in line with Client requirements
• Updating reports
• Meeting agreed performance targets
• Ensuring files are kept within ISO 9001 guidelines
• Provide written updates by email or letter to clients detailing case activity to ensure that they receive up to date and accurate information about progress when requested
• To ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations

Experience, Skills and Qualifications
• Previous experience as a minimum in a similar role
• Experience of handling litigated files
• Experience of dealing with credit hire claims
• Experience of MOJ/OIC processes at all stages
• Good telephone negotiation skills
• Have an understanding of protocols
• Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
• Proficient IT skills
