Cybersecurity Associate

London – £90,000 - £110,000

Join our clients dynamic Cyber Practice team as an Associate, specialising in Insurance, Financial, Insurance, and Professional Disputes in their London office.

You will play a vital role in managing cyber risks for their clients throughout the Readiness, Respond, and Recover phases.

The Global team, with extensive multi-jurisdictional experience, delivers practical and tailored advice to clients facing cyber threats. As pioneers in cyber risk management, they have handled over 3,000 data breaches since 2005, ranging from individual incidents to complex multi-jurisdictional security events.

What can be expected:
  • Collaborate with partners to advise clients on cyber risk matters across the Readiness, Respond, and Recover phases.
  • Work on a variety of data protection, technology, and media litigation matters.
  • Manage cyber security incidents, including CMT calls, dealing with attackers, instructing IT forensics firms, engaging PR consultants, and advising on notification obligations.
  • Handle litigation related to cyber matters, defending group litigation and managing disputes arising from security incidents.
  • Provide guidance on GDPR applicability for international breaches.
  • Assist in business development initiatives, cultivating corporate and cyber insurer client opportunities and relationships.
  • Develop a strong personal reputation and contribute to the firm's profile in the cyber market.
  • Build relationships with third parties, including vendors, brokers, and key intermediaries.
  • Support and lead various thought leadership and broader PR initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Excellent technical legal skills, including drafting, strategy management, and prioritising caseloads.
  • Ideally, 2 years PQE; however, all suitable candidates will be considered.
  • Litigation experience, preferably with technology and/or media disputes.
  • Previous cyber experience focusing on breach response work.
  • Passionate, driven, and determined individual with a real interest in technology and data issues.
  • Strong academics
