Construction Disputes Solicitor

London – £45,000 - £60,000

A highly regarded Legal 500law firm with office in Gerrards Cross is looking to expand its busy and growing construction disputes team, with the addition of two Construction Disputes Solicitors with 1-4 Years PQE.

The firm is a well-regarded, full-service regional law firm based in Gerrards Cross, serving clients across the Thames Valley and into London. The firm advises a mix of SMEs, high-net-worth individuals, and larger corporates, and is recognised in Legal 500 and Chambers UK for its strengths across dispute resolution, private client, corporate, employment, family, and real estate work. Known for delivering City-quality advice in a regional setting, B P Collins offers lawyers a strong platform for high-quality work, career progression, and a supportive, collaborative culture outside of London.

The Role
As a key part of the construction disputes team, your responsibilities will include:
  • Advising clients on construction contracts—particularly the JCT suite—offering commercial and practical solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Managing disputes involving defective works, payment issues (interim and final), delay claims (extensions of time, loss and expense, liquidated damages), and claims under third-party security arrangements.
  • Handling proceedings in the High Court and Technology and Construction Court, as well as alternative dispute resolution methods such as adjudication and mediation.
  • Providing strategic, real-time advice during ongoing construction projects to help minimise disputes and protect clients’ positions.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and clients to deliver legal updates and tailored training on legislative and industry developments.
This is an excellent opportunity for driven and client-focused lawyers who are looking to join a dynamic, supportive team. Whether you bring years of experience or are early in your career with a strong foundation in construction law, your ambition and enthusiasm will be key.

Key Requirements:
  • Experience advising on construction contracts (especially JCT) and handling disputes related to defects, delays, payment, and liquidated damages.
  • Experience in High Court/TCC litigation and ADR (such as adjudication or mediation) is highly desirable.
  • A good understanding of third-party claims under security arrangements in construction is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, good organisational ability, and a collaborative approach are essential.
The firm places genuine emphasis on employee wellbeing, offering flexible part-time options, hybrid working (well-established even before COVID), and achievable targets of just four chargeable hours per day.

You'll be part of a supportive culture that’s genuinely committed to your professional development. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to make a meaningful impact within a lean, high-performing team.
