Role Overview: As a solicitor with 2-5 years of PQE, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of legal matters under the guidance of experienced professionals. You will play a key role in handling complex legal issues, providing strategic advice to clients, and contributing to the firm's continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied caseload of legal matters, including but not limited to, corporate transactions, commercial agreements, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide sound legal advice to clients.
- Assist senior colleagues in client meetings, negotiations, and court proceedings.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and client-focused service delivery.
- Stay updated on legal developments and industry trends to ensure the delivery of timely and relevant advice to clients.
- Collaborate with colleagues across different practice areas to deliver integrated legal solutions.
- Qualified solicitor with 2-5 years of PQE, preferably gained at a reputable law firm.
- Strong academic background with a demonstrable track record of success.
- Experience in corporate law, commercial law, or related practice areas is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Enthusiasm for professional development and a willingness to take on new challenges.
1. What were you doing before you joined Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment?
Prior to starting at Douglas Scott, I graduated from The University of Strathclyde with a Psychology degree. I then joined another legal recruitment firm in Manchester where I focused on the Chicago legal market for 10 months.
2. What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I am looking forward to getting to know the team at Douglas Scott. I am also excited to gain expertise in a new legal market hopefully making lots of successful placements!
3. If you weren’t in recruitment what would you be doing?
If I didn’t go into recruitment, I would have most likely completed my master’s in forensic psychology and pursued a career in that field.

Something people might not know is I was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland.
