The Role: As an Employment Solicitor with three or more years of PQE, you will take on a key role within the firm's employment law team, working closely with clients to provide strategic advice and representation on a wide range of employment matters. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex cases, collaborate with experienced colleagues, and further develop your skills in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing expert legal advice to clients on all aspects of employment law, including disciplinary proceedings, grievances, discrimination claims, and employment tribunal litigation.
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
- Representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and employment tribunal hearings.
- Conducting legal research and staying abreast of developments in employment law.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through exceptional service delivery and proactive communication.
- Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in employment law.
- Demonstrable experience handling a broad range of contentious & non-countentious employment law matters.
- Strong technical skills and a sound understanding of relevant legislation and case law.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

1. What were you doing before you joined Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment?
Prior to starting at Douglas Scott, I graduated from The University of Strathclyde with a Psychology degree. I then joined another legal recruitment firm in Manchester where I focused on the Chicago legal market for 10 months.
2. What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I am looking forward to getting to know the team at Douglas Scott. I am also excited to gain expertise in a new legal market hopefully making lots of successful placements!
3. If you weren’t in recruitment what would you be doing?
If I didn’t go into recruitment, I would have most likely completed my master’s in forensic psychology and pursued a career in that field.

Something people might not know is I was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland.
