Deputy Team Leader - EL/PL Team

Liverpool Office (Hybrid working: 1 day in office, 4 days from home)

Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm (35 hours per week)

As the Deputy Team Leader for the EL/PL team, you will play a pivotal role in driving team performance and ensuring the successful management of complex casualty claims. This dynamic position involves overseeing a diverse caseload, providing guidance to junior team members, and maintaining high standards of service delivery. With a focus on client satisfaction and operational efficiency, you will collaborate closely with the Team Leader to achieve key objectives and foster a positive working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a diverse caseload of approximately 150 complex EL/PL/Product/Property damage claims, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to quality standards.
• Assess new claims, develop strategic approaches, and establish appropriate reserves in alignment with organizational guidelines.
• Exercise financial authority to approve payments within specified limits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular peer reviews, offering constructive feedback to team members and identifying opportunities for skills development.
• Facilitate the referral of files to litigation when necessary, documenting rationale and participating in feedback sessions as required.
• Review individual team members' performance to ensure adherence to quality standards and provide support as needed.
• Compile and analyze weekly performance metrics, contributing to strategic planning efforts in the absence of the Team Leader.
• Keep abreast of internal and external developments, actively participating in team meetings and disseminating relevant information to team members.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting motivation and engagement among team members.
• Maintain accurate records within the claims management system, ensuring data integrity and compliance with organizational protocols.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with administrative and file handling assistants to optimize performance and recognize achievements.
• Utilize performance monitoring systems to track productivity, identify trends, and proactively address any issues.
• Support the Team Leader in managing performance concerns and liaising with HR as necessary.
• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, contributing to their training and development.
• Manage client communications, including reviewing and responding to inquiries in a timely manner and participating in client meetings as needed.
• Ensure compliance with client-specific protocols, service level agreements, and key performance indicators to uphold client satisfaction.
