Patent Associate

Washington – £205,000 - £325,000

Douglas Scott are proud to be working alongside a Top ranked, multinational firm in their search for a talented patent associate for its Patent Prosecution group for any of its US based offices!

Their "First-tier" Patent group is seeking a junior to mid level patent associate for its Intellectual Property group. With over 100 patent attorneys with varying technical backgrounds, the team prosecutes applications in virtually every area of science. They have an immediate need for associates with experience in the intersection of technology and life sciences, in particular, they desire candidates with advanced degrees in the biology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or immunology.

The ideal candidate:
  • will have 2-4 years relevant experience in the life sciences industry.
  • 2+ years experience prosecuting patent applications
  • will have an advanced degree in biotechnology (or similar technical fields)
  • have law firm experience
  • is registered to practice before the USPTO with a strong background in relevant scientific fields
  • must be admitted to the bar in the state of which they reside
Not only is the opportunity flexible based upon location, the firm will also consider candidates who wish to work fully remote (the city of which you reside must have an office, as you will need to come into the office as and when required).The firm is also offering a handsome salary range of $205,000-$325,000, based upon levels of experience, as well as numerous benefits including hybrid working.
