Court of Protection Associate

Birmingham – £50,000 - £60,000

Following a record-breaking financial year my client is looking to recruit a CoP Associate for both their property and affairs team and their welfare team in Birmingham. Salary for the role is £60,000 DOE flexible working and 2 days on the office a week.

About the Team:
  • Technology is at the forefront, for example all their client payments handled through dedicated systems.
  • No admin, Solicitors are fully supported by paralegals and admin teams allowing you to fully focus on your role and clients
  • Dedicated Professional Support Lawyer in place to handle complex research tasks
  • A constant stream of new high value work so no pressure to bring any clients with you (although you can if you want)
  • Chargeable hours are flexible depending on your strengths. if you are BD heavy or enjoy training then your chargeable hours will reflect that. Everyone in the department hit their chargeable hours last year
Benefits:
  • Salary £50,000 - £60,000 DOE
  • 25 days AL + bank holidays, dependants leave and 2 volunteering days
  • Flexible and hybrid working with 2 days in the office a week
  • Private healthcare
  • Critical illness cover
  • Career paths put in place on day 1

The idea candidate will be 2+ PQE with previous CoP experience, either within property and affairs or welfare. However, PQE is just a guideline as with the amount of work the team brings in there will be opportunities at all levels.

Gareth Hibbert is a Senior Recruitment Consultant at Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment, having been with the company for over two years. On a personal note, he is looking to move house to something a bit bigger with a garage so he can tinker. After a busy day, Gareth doesn't get much time to unwind with a 2-year-old, but his unwinding comes during the tram journey home. He loves spending quality time with his family, as nothing beats that. If he weren't in recruitment, Gareth would likely pursue a career in microbiology, particularly focusing on soil, though he’s glad he’s not, as he thinks he might not handle all the excitement!
