Post Completion Assistant A leading law firm is seeking a meticulous and proactive
Post Completion Assistant to join the team in the coming weeks. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a solid understanding of residential property post-completion processes and a desire to work in a collaborative, fast-paced legal environment.
Overview: The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the firm remains compliant and efficient across all post-completion activities. From Land Registry submissions to SDLT/LTT returns and Companies House registrations, this position is central to maintaining the smooth running of property transactions across the business.
Key Responsibilities: Land Registry: - Prepare and submit applications (Transfers, Leases, Charges, CN1s, RXs, etc.)
- Handle requisitions and raise queries with the Land Registry
- Update electronic post-completion checklists and team trackers
SDLT/LTT: - Draft and submit SDLT and LTT returns, including calculations
- Ensure timely payment to HMRC/WRA
- Stay up-to-date with rate changes and procedural updates
Companies House: - Register and satisfy Charges/Debentures within statutory deadlines
Searches & Secondary Duties: - Conduct OS1, OS2, SIM, Bankruptcy, company, and winding-up searches
- Manage official documents, insurance policies, and local authority records
- Handle PG82 Certificates, No Search Certificates, and Chancel Repair policies
Searchflow Searches: - Plot and process property searches using the Searchflow system
- Distribute and file search results appropriately
Required Experience & Skills: - Essential: Experience in residential property post-completion work
- Desirable: Experience in commercial property or property finance
- Familiarity with case management systems (Proclaim) and BigHand is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational and analytical skills
- Strong communication and professional presence
- Comfortable working across multiple teams in a dynamic environment
