Exciting Opportunity for Employment Associates (2–10 Years PQE) – £70,000 - £85,000 - Birmingham Office A leading Top 100 international law firm with a renowned Employment & Reward team is seeking to expand its Birmingham office with multiple openings for Employment Associates across a 2 to 7 years PQE range.

The team acts as trusted advisors to a portfolio of FTSE-listed blue-chip clients, both domestic and international. Beyond providing expert legal advice, they pride themselves on being genuine business partners, delivering pragmatic and commercially astute solutions that support clients’ strategic workforce objectives. The group is known for innovation, responsiveness, and a collaborative approach that transcends traditional employment law services.
The Work You’ll regularly be involved in high-profile, complex employment matters including cutting-edge tribunal claims, corporate transactions, and global mobility projects. The role often involves international collaboration, advising on cross-border employment issues such as consultation obligations, benefit redesign, and executive employment matters—including senior recruitment, termination, compensation arrangements, bonus disputes, team moves, and restrictive covenant enforcement.
The team is also increasingly engaged in strategic initiatives like global change management programmes, reward philosophy reviews, and gender pay gap audits, providing an excellent platform to develop expertise in forward-thinking employment projects.
About You We’re looking for candidates with at least two years’ post-qualification experience in employment law within a commercial environment. You will have demonstrated technical expertise and market awareness, with hands-on experience advising on complex employment disputes, cross-border issues, restructuring, senior-level grievances (including discrimination and whistleblowing), and boardroom-level employment matters.
Experience in High Court litigation or related corporate work such as M&A and outsourcing would be advantageous, reflecting the diverse nature of the team’s portfolio.
Strong academic credentials are essential, alongside a robust commercial mindset and an understanding of how large international firms operate. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player with excellent communication skills, motivated to contribute to team growth and involved in multidisciplinary, cross-office initiatives.
