Residential Conveyancing Department Lead
Location: Blackpool / Hybrid
Salary: £50,000 per annum A leading regional firm is seeking a proactive and experienced Residential Conveyancer to head up its busy and well-established conveyancing department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor or licensed conveyancer with 2+ years’ PQE who’s ready to step into a leadership role, manage a high-quality caseload, and guide a growing team.
The Role: As the lead conveyancing Solicitor, you’ll oversee the smooth running of the department while managing your own caseload of residential property files. You’ll play a key role in shaping team performance, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring excellent client care across the board. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a personal caseload of 80 – 100 residential conveyancing files, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, new builds, remortgages, and transfers of equity.
- Supervising and supporting a team of two trainees and three administrative staff, ensuring file progress and compliance across the department.
- Acting as the main point of contact for escalations, technical guidance, and complex matters.
- Delivering clear, practical legal advice to clients and ensuring transactions are managed efficiently from instruction to post-completion.
- Monitoring SLAs and department KPIs, ensuring high standards of service and case progression.
- Supporting business development initiatives and helping to grow the department’s profile and caseload.
- Working collaboratively with firm leadership to contribute to the ongoing strategic growth of the firm’s property offering.
What We’re Looking For: - A qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or Legal Executive with 2+ years’ PQE in residential conveyancing.
- Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload confidently and independently.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- A commercial, client-first mindset and the ability to build strong relationships with clients, estate agents, and referrers.
- A collaborative and hands-on approach to team management and client service.
