Overview:
Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced
Paralegal to join their Family Law Department.
This role is ideal for a paralegal with prior experience in family law and an interest in progressing toward qualification (including Training Contract opportunities).
The successful candidate will provide essential legal and administrative support across a range of family law matters.
Areas of Work:
You will be involved in supporting cases relating to:
- Divorce and separation
- Financial remedy disputes
- Civil partnership disputes
- Rights of unmarried and cohabiting couples
- Private law children matters
- Domestic abuse matters
Please note: This role does not include child care proceedings.
Key Responsibilities: - Assisting with new client enquiries and initial assessments
- Supporting legal surgery sessions within the department
- Undertaking fee-earning work under appropriate supervision
- Handling administrative tasks related to client matters
- Preparing and submitting Legal Aid funding applications
- Contributing to marketing and business development efforts, including networking with local referral agencies
Requirements: - Previous experience in family law is essential
- Familiarity with the Legal Aid scheme is highly desirable
- Strong communication, organisational, and client care skills
- Ability to work well within a team and under supervision
- Interest in pursuing further legal qualifications welcomed
