best practice in legal recruitmentThe publishing of a recent report “Emerging Best Practice in Talent Acquisition” struck a chord with our MD Kathryn Riley (pictured) who recently formed part of an APSCO chaired expert panel formed to discuss its findings. Nearly 50 recruitment and human resources professionals attended the discussion which was chaired by Ann Swain of APSCO and held at Squire Sanders Manchester office on the 15th May. Appearing on the panel with Kath were Andy Lord of Re-Think, Daniel Daw of Amoria Bond and Matt Cosway of Financial Force.

The comprehensive study into best practice was carried out by innovation consultants Accretis and on the day a summary was delivered by their MD Doctor John Jebb. The report Itself is quite a weighty tome but well worth a read and available to download free from the Accretis website. Riley commented “The report concluded that training in recruitment best practice and the adoption of accredited standards should become the norm for all stakeholders. This is what we do and have been doing since the year dot. We are the only REC and APSCO affiliated legal recruitment specialist with an ISO9001 accredited quality management system. We understand that hirers and candidates are our customers and have taken steps to ensure we can measure the quality of the service we delivery. We will of course continue to innovate and seek to continuously improve the candidate and hirer experience.”

Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment target 83.3% engagement with the candidates they register – meaning 83.3 in every 100 registered candidates will be put forward to one of our live legal jobs. In the first quarter of the year they achieved 91% engagement and 1 in every 4 CV’s sent to a legal job generated an interview.
