Our Legal IT Leadership Forum was a success

Posted in Latest News on 7 Aug 2015

Today we kicked off the morning with our first Legal IT Leadership Forum at Douglas Scott HQ in Manchester.

Heads of IT and Lead Developers from various firms and organisations joined us to discuss case management systems over sausage and bacon butties.

The topics that were discussed were:

1. What are the biggest pitfalls in implementing a new case management system, and how can we avoid them?
2. How can we give people faith in our systems?
3. The right technology – case management systems can help a firm leverage its resources, boost productivity and increase profit margins. But how far can Legal IT drive competitive advantage, particularly since cloud computing has levelled the IT playing field?
4. How far should we go with automation?

This was a great opportunity for everyone to share their knowledge. We discussed how different teams have approached the introduction of new technologies into their firms. Is there proof that these technologies offer a strong ROI? One company explained how they analysed the time that could be saved by using a new system, and how this equated to money spent by the business.

It was a great setting for everyone to discuss ideas and strategies, and we hope everyone took as much from it as we did.

We’re going to host these events on a regular basis – so look out for our next one! If you’re a legal IT professional who’d like to attend and have any ideas for a topic that is particularly relevant to you then feel free to drop us an email or give us a call for a chat at 0161 233 6360 david.doherty@douglas-scott.co.uk
