- Only 2% of legal professionals cycle into work on a daily basis.
- Of the 2% 65% are male and 34% are female.
- London – not surprisingly is top of the league when it comes to lawyers who cycle. Nearly 3% take a bike in the capital. Least likely to be in the saddle are legal professionals in the North West (1.7%) and Yorkshire (1.08%).
- IT professionals based in law firms are big users with 12.5% preferring the bike to other forms of transport.
- 3% of In House Lawyers cycle to work compared to 2% of their Private Practice counterparts
- Cycling is good for the spirit. 17% of lawyers who bike believe they are paid above market rate in their job compared to the average 9%.
- Corporate Finance is a practice area hot spot for cyclists with 10% of lawyers donning their helmets.
- 41% of lawyers who cycled into work got paid a bonus compared to 29% who took the car.
- Litigators are least likely to be getting on their bikes.
- 5 to 10 Partner firms contain the largest proportion of cycling lawyers.
