Emily joined Douglas Scott in March 2017, initially as part of the Master Vendor team of consultants focusing on the recruitment for one specialised client account. Emily went on to join the National Support desk where she concentrated on business support roles within law firms. Currently Emily works on the London and South East region desk covering private practice and working with a range of small regional practices, boutique firms and larger national practices including well-established departments as well as emerging firms. Emily graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2016 and studied Criminology and Criminal Justice. Previous to this, she completed her A-levels in Business studies, ICT and Sociology.

Ryan joined Douglas Scott in 2018 having previously worked as a Sales Operations Manager. He specialises in Private Practice recruitment in the North West and recruits from Legal Assistant level up to Partnership level, and works with a range of small regional practices, boutique firms and larger national and international practices. Ryan works with well-established departments as well as with firms which are keen to diversify into new areas of law.

With previous recruitment experience in Education and Customer Service Sectors, Chris joined Douglas Scott in early 2015. Chris works with several clients across the whole of the Midlands area and represents a range of candidates from qualified Solicitors to those with non-qualified backgrounds such as Legal Support staff. Adding another string to his bow, Chris has also studied a Professional Marketing Course. Outside of work Chris loves travelling and has participated in extreme activities such as skydives and bungee jumps in New Zealand. He has also been part of a fire show in Singapore.

Leah joins as a Recruitment Consultant on our London desk, specialising in placing legal professionals within the South West region. She works with the leading firms across her region, from boutique to top tier Legal 500. Having obtained a Criminology degree from Chester University and further working in Sales and Recruitment roles for 6 years, Leah's skills lie in developing strong professional relationships and hitting targets.
In her spare time, Leah enjoys going out for food with her boyfriend, friends and family and staying fit by hitting the gym!
Emily joined Douglas Scott in 2021 as part of the London team, focusing predominantly on Associate recruitment. Emily specialises in moving candidates within a range of law firms from boutiques, to the leading Top 100. She prides herself on her ability to cultivate and sustain strong professional relationships and operates with a pragmatic approach to service delivery.
In her spare time, Emily enjoys working on her health and fitness - Spinning classes are her favourite gym activity!
What were you doing before you joined Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment?
- I was completing my masters degree in Exercise Physiology, and working full time in a call centre as a senior claims conversion handler.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
- I am most looking forward to helping people and connecting them with opportunities to progress within their career.
If you weren’t in recruitment what would you be doing?
- I would be pursuing being a full time Exercise Physiologist within elite sport.

- I have a huge fear of spiders.
What were you doing before you joined Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment?
I was working in Business Protection Insurance for a Manchester based leading insurance firm.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I am most looking forward to a change of scenery and dealing with candidates and clients of different levels to help make a difference in their career paths whilst developing my own in a new sector.
If you weren’t in recruitment what would you be doing?
I would have most likely remained in the insurance sector and continued down that avenue wherever that would have taken me...

I used to play rugby (union), something that my Dad got me into, although I drew the line at getting involved in his other sports like rallying!
