Due to expansion an experienced Duty Solicitor is wanted for an opportunity with a fast growing Criminal Law firm. The successful candidate will have acquired upwards of 2 years Criminal Law experience in a busy high street or regional law firm, possess or be working to Duty Solicitor Accreditation and be motivated to build out a career in a friendly and supportive legal environment and a firm on an upwards trajectory. Salary is upwards of £35,000 and to £50,000 dependent on experience with comprehensive benefits.
The successful Duty Solicitor will join a busy department, and manage a caseload of general crime matters. Day to day duties will vary and include providing advice at court and police stations, file preparation and reviews for magistrates and crown court cases, advocacy in the magistrate’s court for trials, bail applications and remand hearings.

Emily joined Douglas Scott in March 2017, initially as part of the Master Vendor team of consultants focusing on the recruitment for one specialised client account. Emily went on to join the National Support desk where she concentrated on business support roles within law firms. Currently Emily works on the London and South East region desk covering private practice and working with a range of small regional practices, boutique firms and larger national practices including well-established departments as well as emerging firms. Emily graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2016 and studied Criminology and Criminal Justice. Previous to this, she completed her A-levels in Business studies, ICT and Sociology.
