Manchester – £23,750 - £27,000

A renowned Legal 500 commercial law firm are looking for an experienced Legal PA for a varied and challenging opportunity in their Manchester City Centre offices supporting the Commercial Litigation Partner.

My client is looking an individual with an ability to apply existing skills to this exciting role. This organisation offer fantastic benefits as well as opportunities for progression within the business.

The Legal PA will be responsible for providing a comprehensive, proactive PA and administrative support service enabling them to maximise their fee earning potential and develop their practice.

PA's will have excellent written and communication skills and the ability to organise their work and shifting priorities and deadlines. The ability to multi-task whilst working for a number of fee earners is crucial. Flexibility and adaptability in the role are key as well as the ability to remain calm during peak work periods and deadlines.

The Firm operates a Shared Service team for document and correspondence production; however, it is important that the PA demonstrates and maintains excellent up to date and relevant IT skills, in particular MS Word and Excel.

Legal PA's are expected to be flexible to work occasional additional hours from time to time to support the team in delivering their client service.
Overall, PA's should demonstrate a professional attitude and demonstrate a desire to contribute to a culture of sharing expertise, knowledge and skills with others.

Duties will include;

• Acting as a point of contact for clients and internal and external contacts.
• Diary management and inbox management.
• Ad hoc transcription of dictation and documents where it is unsuitable for the transcription/document shared service (this should be limited in volume and frequency).
• Assisting with trial bundles, instructions to counsel, court documentation etc.
• Matter management to include, file opening, risk management and file structure.
• Manage accurate monthly delivery of volume bills to insurer clients and assist with financial housekeeping on all client matters to include billing, WIP management, disbursements and debts.
• Managing the archive and storage process for the department.
• Assisting with collating tender, pitch, bid documentation where required.
• Booking and arranging travel arrangements.
• Providing prompts and reminders for fee earner important tasks and deadlines.
• Managing databases/spreadsheets and filing systems.
• Assisting with the preparation of reports and correspondence.
• Implementing and maintaining administrative systems and procedures.
• Assisting with special projects.
• Working with the DMA and fee earners to support the departmental and fee earner business development activity.
• Assist with quasi fee earning tasks (where required).
• Assisting with minutes, agendas, actions of departmental meetings where required for both internal and external meetings.
• Research and information gathering on an ad hoc basis.
