Property Legal Secretary
Douglas Scott have the honour of assisting a forward thinking and dynamic Law firm based in Cheshire in appointing a Legal Secretary to join their impressive property department due to expansion. The role is offered on a full time permanent basis.
The role will involve assisting a busy property lawyer in all things secretarial by providing the below support:
* Liaising with clients and fee earners in person, via email, letter and telephone.
* Providing quotes to clients
* Dealing with Completions, arranging for the transfer of monies, completion letter
* Prepare and produce documents
* Extensive audio typing
* Dealing with post and general administration as required by the department
* Contributing to secretarial resources for all fee earners
* Provide reception cover as and when needed
The ideal candidate would be someone who can work within a team providing excellent client care. Strong IT skills including use of case management, typing, digital dictation & Excel. Previous experience of working in a property department of a law firm is an advantage.
It's important that you have:
- Minimum of 12 months experience as a legal secretary
- Property experience is desirable but not essential
- 60wpm+ typing speed

Amy joined Douglas Scott in November 2010 and has extensive experience covering the Manchester and Yorkshire markets. She currently manages the North West desk and recruits from Legal Assistant level up to Partnership level and deals with key client accounts on a nationwide basis. Amy returned from maternity leave in early 2017 and dove straight back to work, managing a large Master Vendor account as well as its dedicated team of consultants. Amy has been in recruitment since June 2004 and before making the move into legal recruitment she worked in the accountancy and finance sector. She graduated with a Public Relations Degree from the University of Lincoln and before this studied at Harrogate Ladies College. In her spare time, she cares for her young daughter Evie.
