    Manchester £50,000 – £65,000

    Douglas Scott are proud to partner a leading law firm in their search for a Development Manager to join their Change Management team. The Development Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the resources and processes to enable the delivery of high quality application software releases to time and on budget. Through a team of in- house developers, the Development Manager delivers the software solutions that support the firm in meeting its strategic and financial objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work with the Project Management office (PMO) to plan projects, ensuring that the development team have the appropriate specifications, direction and resources to enable them to deliver software solutions effectively
    • Establish realistic estimates and timelines, whilst ensuring that projects meet business critical deadlines
    • Work closely with the business representatives and Business Analysts to understand functional and non-functional requirements
    • Collaborate with the IT Director and the Management Team in defining the firm's technology vision
    • Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes along with best practices for delivery of scalable and high quality software.
    • Demonstrate leadership abilities to the users (both internal and where appropriate, external clients) with the deployment of software upgrades, enhancements and fixes that are coordinated and based on release schedules
    • Provide a software development plan that meets the future needs of the firm and the firm's clients, based on state-of‐the-art technologies

    Technical Requirements

    • Must have at least 5 years' experience working through the design, development, release cycle, and delivering software products to market
    • A record of successful delivery of software applications as an individual team leader and/or Development manager
    • Strong understanding of the development cycle
    • Strong leadership, project management, time management and problem solving skills
    • Up to date understanding of relational databases (mainly MSSQL), Entity Frameworks, JavaScript (Angular), C#, XML/XSLT, HTML, LINQ and other related technologies
