A leading Midlands firm are looking for a newly qualified solicitor to join their property risk team. Their Birmingham office is looking for a bright and confident individual with excellent communication skills to join their costs recovery team, focussing on recovery of costs for their property team and injury risk team.
The firm have won many awards, including investors in people awards and have an excellent track record for staff retention. Ideally you'll be a newly qualified solicitor. Previous experience of costs would be an advantage as is an ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients.
You'll be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure, dealing confidently with changing and conflicting priorities, be a confident communicator and negotiator and a team player. After initial tarining, you'll have responsibility for running your own case load of costs matters, selling strategy on these and negotiating settlement/ running to detailed assessment by the court.
You'll deal with complex and high value cases and you'll be expected to feed back to the general defendant and recovery fee earners on their time recording techniques to ensure that all fee earners are properly recording time.
Salary is negotiable.
