AGM - January 2015

On Friday 9th January, Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment took a trip to the beautiful Peckforton Castle near Tarporley in Cheshire for our Annual General Meeting. After a very early start - some of us took a coach trip whilst others made their own way there - we were greeted on arrival with tea and coffee in the Castle’s Hexagonal Dining Room.

The day started with a presentation from our Managing Director (Kathryn Riley) and then contributions from Jon-Paul Hanrahan (Associate Director) and Laura Lissett (Marketing Manager) – talking about our successes in 2014 and our fantastic plans for 2015.

After a filling lunch, we braved the outdoors for a fun afternoon of team building games. We began with a game of Rollerball which involved getting a golf ball into a toilet seat (!) in the longest time possible using guttering and a variety of other everyday objects. The competitiveness really cranked up when Team 1 won that round! We then moved onto Laser Clays (which Team 1 also won!) – a bit like Clay Pigeon Shooting but a lot safer and gentler on the ears! We finished the activities with a game of Trebuchet which involved catapulting water balloons at the opposition. As you can imagine this didn’t quite go to plan and just resulted in a huge water balloon fight! The rain and wind held off long enough for Team 1 to be crowned the overall winner – well done guys!

After time spent relaxing in our rooms and exploring the castle, we sat down for our evening meal and then moved on to the Castle’s beautiful, and original, Wine Cellar to dance until the wee hours.

Everyone had a fantastic time during their night of luxury at Peckforton Castle and we'd like to thank everyone at the Castle for giving us such a great experience in an amazing setting - it was a great way to celebrate the successes of 2014 and prepare for the year ahead.
