Relocating within the UK?

Posted in Latest News on 12 May 2015

You’ve probably seen over the last 8 weeks that we’ve published 8 City Guides, aimed at supporting legal professionals who are looking to move overseas with their careers.

This week we launch the UK suite of City Guides, which looks at some of the top UK cities to help you prepare for the legal landscape, hot social spots and the cost of living. Whilst some people might not be quite ready to launch their careers abroad, moving across the country to work is becoming increasingly popular. Here at Douglas Scott we understand the decision to move cities can be daunting, and these guides should help you to understand better the area you are moving to and answer any questions you might have.

The first release in the UK suite of City Guides is London. With more billionaires than any other city in the world, London is one of the world’s largest economies. A financial hub, it is also base for an enormous number of businesses, and a conveyor belt of new residential, commercial and public body construction projects. And the best bit? They all need lawyers.

Around 48,000 Solicitors work in Greater London – that’s approximately 42% of all practice certificate holders in England and Wales. So, if you want to begin or continue a career in the legal profession, there are not many places better suited to that pursuit.
